Beschreibung:

Project Description

The team is building an internal platform for software product developers to accelerate the development and delivery of software products to tackle the massive challenges facing the energy sector. The Platform is a service

oriented, cloud-native platform that is being built to provide application teams with self-service capabilities to develop, run

and operate their software products. Platform provides services for application infrastructure, data, service lifecycle

management, application build and delivery as well as services to operate their software products. The Platform is

deployed as a hybrid cloud, encompassing both private cloud and select public clouds.

General Description

The Product Line is responsible for a central product portfolio, consisting of an Infrastructure as a Service Product, a managed Kubernetes Service, a resource management service to facilitate scalable management of platform permissions and a service lifecycle workflow engine enabling. All services together constitute a core part of an on-premise private cloud platform for all business applications of the client, including IT/OT critical applications required for maintaining and operating the grid. For the whole product portfolio, the product line owns the complete product flow, from product management, architecture, delivery up until Tier 3 operations.

Objectives:

Architecture Design

Objective: Designing and overseeing IT systems that meet business needs

Tasks:

Consulting on the coordination with stakeholders like product owners as well as lead and domain architects to define

and refine both functional and non-functional requirements.

• Translating the requirements and high-level service architecture into modular, scalable and maintainable technical

designs aligned with service-oriented and cloud-native principles.

• Providing documentation, maintaining and evolving (including versioning) architecture artifacts over the lifecycle of

the product.

• Consulting and maintaining security based on best practices within the Kubernetes environment, in coordination

with security stakeholders to address vulnerabilities.

• Conceptualization of designs and continuously evolving a well-defined service architecture that promotes

consistency and interoperability.

• Establishing and governing architecture standards, design principles, and reusable patterns within product Line (ensuring

alignment with platform-level standards).

• Providing strategic recommendations for complex architectural topics and trade-offs.

Technology Evaluation

Objective: Assessing and recommending technologies and tools that best meet organizational needs

Tasks:

• Evaluating and selection of emerging technologies and existing tools for potential adoption.

• Overseeing and giving recommendations to guide the development of proof-of-concepts (POCs) and reference

implementations to validate architectural decisions.

• Providing strategic recommendations on technology adoption, optimization, and deprecation.

• Defining guardrails and standards for technology usage across Product Line.

Architecture Guidance

Objective: Providing architectural support and collaborating across Product Line to ensure successful implementation

Tasks:

• Consulting the architects and engineering stakeholders by guiding them on questions related to architecture and

design patterns during implementation.

• Structuring the refinement of the engineering stakeholders based on the developed designs, incorporating learnings

from the POCs.

• Enable communication and exchange with other stakeholders of the Service Product Line, and other parties.

This requires maintaining clear and comprehensive documentation for any developed services.

• Acting as a senior advisor and escalation point for architecture-related topics across engineering teams.

• Mentoring of architecture and engineering stakeholders, fostering a strong architecture community within Product Line.
